Most of my work involves custom designs. However, many projects don’t really require the time and cost associated with completely custom work. If you’re looking for a robust Content Management System (CMS) to create your website, I recommend WordPress.
Among the advantages of using a CMS:
- Non-programmers can often handle simple text edits and maintenance
- Development time is much shorter, as we start from available themes. A simple website can be up and running in a matter of hours
- Your blog can be incorporated directly into your website
- WordPress sites look great in all of the major browsers, so you don’t have to worry about compatibility
- Many free plug-ins are available to provide advanced functionality
For WordPress sites, I use the Genesis framework from StudioPress, and build sites using their professionally designed premium themes. Below are some examples of sites I’ve created using WordPress.
